About Us
We are a husband-and-wife team who were having dinner with our young kids one night and came to a slightly alarming realization - they had absolutely no idea what our phone numbers were, what our home address was, or even what our real names were. Apparently, “Mom” and “Dad” were all the information they thought they needed. That got us wondering… what else had we forgotten to teach them?
So we created Now What? - a conversation card game designed to get families talking about the real-life situations kids may actually face as they grow up. From everyday problems and friendships to safety, independence, social pressure, and bigger life decisions, each card presents a situation and asks one simple question: now what? There aren’t always perfect answers. The goal is to talk, laugh, think things through, and give kids a chance to build confidence before they’re figuring things out in the moment.
We also know how busy family life can get. Between work, school, activities, appointments, and the constant pull of phones and tablets, it can be surprisingly hard to slow down and really talk. That’s why we wanted Now What? to be more than just a card game - it’s a reason to put the screens aside, gather around the table, and get back to something simple: good old-fashioned conversation.
We’re developing four different packs for different age groups, so the conversations can grow right along with your kids. Right now, we have a limited prototype run of Teen Trailblazers, our ages 12–15 deck, available for purchase. The rest of the Now What? family is on the way following the launch of our Kickstarter—coming soon. How do you play Now What?
Playing is simple. Pick a card, read the situation out loud, and ask, “Now what?” There are no points to keep and no right or wrong answers. The goal is to talk through different choices, possible outcomes, and what your child might do in that situation.
What ages is Now What? designed for?
Now What? is being developed in four age-based packs so the situations grow with your child: Little Explorers (Ages 4–7), Junior Navigators (Ages 8–11), Teen Trailblazers (Ages 12–15), and Ready for Anything (Ages 16+). Each pack uses scenarios and language designed for that stage of life.
What if my child doesn’t know how to answer a question?
That’s completely okay - getting stuck is part of the conversation. Cards include “Stuck?” prompts on the back to help get the discussion moving without simply giving away an answer.
When will the full Now What? collection be available?
We’re currently preparing Now What? for launch. A limited prototype run of Teen Trailblazers is available first, while the remaining packs will follow as we move toward our Kickstarter launch. Joining the waitlist is the best way to hear about new packs, launch dates, and availability.
